2023 Vision: What's next at Greenhouse Project

What does 2023 look like at Greenhouse Project?

Expansion into new communities and neighborhoods is here, and we know ”growing” at Greenhouse Project is about staying “small.”
(I know, sounds backwards… but stick with me).

The heart of how we operate is to foster authentic relationships with individuals, to build strong one-on-one connections that minister and meet needs.

One ministry location would need to accommodate many, but two, three or more allows us to be planted in smaller communities so ministry values can be lived out well: gospel centered, long-term minded, family focused and community-based.

These guiding values help us make decisions on where we go and how we serve.

2023 Vision:

⚡️ Continue and Improve Existing Ministry

⚡️ Launch 912House Extension Campus

⚡️ Grow the Discipleship House (7House)

⚡️ Create the next Five Year Plan

Continue and Improve Existing Ministry

Without adding anything else to our plate, we are refining and improving quality with the projects God has called us to do! This includes Sunday Fellowship, Discipleship training, Recovery Counseling and meetings, AfterSchool Club and Community Outreach — all part of our DNA and vital for community transformation.

This is good news, as we have learned what we’re good at, and we have developed partnerships with amazing ministries and outreaches around Chester that offer services we do not provide.

To ensure we continue to provide fruitful ministry, we prayerfully seek new volunteers to help! We are always open to refinement, raising up new leaders and improving what we do. Now is the perfect time to join our volunteer team — sign up in under 60 seconds.

Launch 912House Extension Campus

After undergoing major renovations in 2022, we are excited to announce that Pastor Donny and Rachelle Martin officially moved into our West Side ministry house around the holidays!

The house renovations are still being completed, but in the final stage. We are optimistic that in Spring 2023, 912House will host regular prayer, evangelism and outreach, plus a Sunday Night Food and Fellowship. A new Homework Club location at this house is expected to launch Fall 2023.

Stay tuned for details on an Open House, Vision Casting, and serving opportunities for Chester’s West Side.

Grow the Discipleship House: The 7House

Greenhouse Project recently launched a residential discipleship program on December 1st 2022 to support and train people who want to grow in their faith and service to the Kingdom of God.

Whether someone is coming from an addiction background, or a Bible College student, our goal is to provide a quality year-long program that equips people to become like Jesus through discipleship (spiritual parenting), education and active, hands-on ministry.

We focus on developing and applying individual goals of discipleship residents in order that they might grow and thrive in a lifestyle of service. The 7House program focuses on three key areas:

  1. An active relationship with God

  2. A lifestyle of ministry

  3. Service to the community

Create the next Five Year Plan

It's time for our team to prayerfully seek God and look into 2028 (can you even imagine 2028?).

This is what we did in 2018: we prayed and sought God and gathered the wisdom of council for our 2023 plan.

Our first five years – from launching to growing programs and locations – provides a guide of sorts for the future. We can plan from a place of faith and certainty, recounting all the ways God provided at every step since 2018!

Please take a moment to pray for our future plans!

Final Thoughts

Back when our Bible Study gathered to pray and dream big around God's Word, I never thought five years later we’d be making impact through four houses, three communities, and relationships with hundreds of neighbors. We have come a long way from a God sized dream to a real life-changing ministry.

Our 2023 is all about refining, investing into people, spaces and places for the Kingdom of God. We can’t do it without God and supporters like you.

Let’s go forward with expectation that God wants to grow us all this year!
