One Graduate, 3 New Disciples

In December of 2022 we launched our discipleship house called the 7 House. It is designed to provide transitional housing space for men who have advanced from long term addiction treatment and equip them for a lifestyle of service and ministry to the community.

Here is what the discipleship house is about: whether someone is coming from a place of addiction recovery or even from Bible College looking for a way to serve, our goal is to train up men with faith in Jesus for a lifestyle of ministry.

This is done through a live-in discipleship community that evokes spiritual parenting, with a strong emphasis on education and active, hands-on ministry. Discipleship residents develop and apply individual goals that encourage growth across three focus areas: active relationship with Jesus, a lifestyle of ministry, and service in the community.

We are excited to share some big news! In April one of our first residents, Kenny, officially completed our program. Kenny has had years of sobriety and active service in his local church. He was able to create personal goals and achieve them including maintaining a good job and finding his own place to live. Kenny came to the house after graduating from a local recovery program and was involved in the Greenhouse Project through service. Please keep Kenny in prayer as he pursues his next adventure with the Lord. Thank you Kenny for your service!

Who are the next residents? Our newest residents are Jake, Kevin and Matt. Check out their pictures and meet them at our Monday recovery meetings, Wednesday discipleship meetings or Sunday at church! They are excited about serving with Greenhouse Project and helping our community. As of right now we have room for one more resident, so please share this link to any man who is looking to become more like Jesus!

With new residents comes much needed renovations to make sure our men are well cared for. This house was donated last year, but had been neglected over the years. We are in need of a new roof, updated kitchen, new floors and garage repairs. These needs are coupled with recent water damage repairs that are needed in the bathroom and living room.

So what's next? Over the summer we are asking volunteers and business owners to help us repair the house. Not only that, we are looking for mentors, sponsors and volunteers to help lead one-on-one Bible Studies. Please reach out to help with this project.
